Dear Audy,

I’m terribly excited, it’s time to launch my new blog! Woot! I do hope that I can keep this one up a little longer than my previous efforts….how many dead blogs do you suppose are out there, Audy? Bagazillions? Yes, it’s definitely up there near the bagazillions…..

I have recently recovered my ability to sew (I had lost it there for a while to the evil hippoperation monster) and I am highly inspired by my previous ventures into handbags. I love dreaming them up, matching the material and stitching them all together…sewing is kind of hypnotic. I have decided to share my handbag adventures, once I get a collection together I will open a little store on Etsy. One can’t sew all the time, however, so I daresay I’ll share my other creative adventures also!

I should give you a little background on me and handbags….In the early years, I decided I wanted to learn to sew and handbags seemed like an easy option. I learned the basics and then away I went, experimenting with different material and styles. I gained enough confidence in my abilities that I started to make bags as gifts for friends. I would ask what sort of bag they would like and then design one to their specifications and name it after them. The designs retain their names, even if I remake them in other materials…Thus, most of my designs are inspired by real people. I draw inspiration from other places though…some conventional….some edible….some ticklish…you just never know when a bag is gonna jump up and slap you silly. Well, I don’t, anyway.

I must rush off now though as I’m simply busting to get some stitches stitching…I’m so looking forward to this Audy, I hope that you enjoy it too!
